Squadron Announcements - Week of October 11th, 2018

  1. PROMOTION EXAMS

    1. The promotion exam for ALL cadets who applied for promotion will be held on Monday, October 22nd at 1900h at Seaforth Armoury.

    2. Cadets may write the exam in appropriate civilian clothing. Please bring your own writing utensils with you to the exam.

  2. 828 SOCCER TOURNAMENT

    1. 135 Bell-Irving has been invited to participate to an indoor soccer tournament hosted by 828 Hurricane RCACS.

    2. CV Deng is looking for 10 motivated cadets to be part of 135’s soccer team! All those interested can sign up here.

    3. The indoor soccer tournament will take place on Saturday November 17th, 2018 from 0800 - 1700h in Tsawwassen, BC. We plan to arrange transport for all cadets participating.

  3. MIGHTY WINGS JAZZ ENSEMBLE

    1. The Mighty Wings Jazz Ensemble is a band made up of cadets all throughout the Lower Mainland and Richmond.

    2. The audition for the Might Wings Jazz Ensemble will take place on Sunday Oct 14, 2018 from 1500 to 2100h at Sherman Armoury.

    3. The ensemble is looking for cadets who play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, piano and vocals, but all cadets are encouraged to apply to join this amazing opportunity!

  4. GROUND SCHOOL

    1. Ground school started this past Sunday October 7th, 2018. It will be held again this Sunday, October 14th at Seaforth Armoury from 1800-2030. This will be a joint ground school with 111 Pegasus RCACS. Due to changes in the flying scholarship examinations, ONLY CADETS WHO ARE ELIGIBLE AND WILL BE APPLYING TO GLIDER/POWER THIS SUMMER ARE ELIGIBLE TO TAKE PART IN THIS GROUND SCHOOL SESSION. 

    2. Cadets who are interested in ground school but are NOT applying to glider/power this year are invited to take part in another ground school session in the Spring of 2019.

  5. POPPY TAGGING OCT 27-28 AND NOV 3-4, 2018

    1. Poppy Tagging at the Billy Bishop Legion for Remembrance Day will take place in the mornings and afternoons of Oct 27-28 and Nov 3-4, 2018. Shifts will run approximately from 0900-1300 and from 1200-1600.

    2. ALL cadets are expected to participate in at least 2 shifts between the 4 days. Please make sure you make yourself available accordingly.

      1. Cadets may sign up here. If you have signed up for a shift online but need to switch your shift, please email 135rcacs@gmail.com

  6. REMEMBRANCE DAY PARADE - NOV 11, 2018

    1. ALL CADETS are REQUIRED to attend the Remembrance Day Parade on November 11th, 2018.

    2. The parade will take place at Victory Square in Downtown Vancouver.

    3. Cadets should expect to be involved with the parade from 0900 to 1300.

    1. ALL CADETS, returning or new, are required to pay the Squadron Assessment Fee.

Squadron Announcements - Week of September 20, 2018

    1. The Squadron Open House will be next week, September 27th from 7-9pm. Friends, family and youth of the community are invited to come down to Seaforth Armoury with their parents to learn more about the air cadet program and to join 135 Bell-Irving RCACS!

Squadron Open House

Squadron Open House

135 RCACS will be having our annual open house for new cadets and their families on Thursday, Sept 27th.

Doors will open at 1900hrs that evening. We will be providing tours, information about the cadet program, our sponsoring committee and all the amazing opportunities the cadet program offers.

We will also be providing light refreshments for guests.

A New Training Year

A new training year is quickly approaching.

Our first night for cadets will be the 30th of Aug. This night will be for Level 5 cadets only.

Our second night in the 6th of September will be for NCO’s only.

Regular parade nights will continue for all cadets starting 13th of September.
