1. POWER FAM FLYING – OCT 24
This power fam flying opportunity is open to all cadets. There are only 24 spots, and each is for a specific time, so please take note of which one you sign up for. If you sign up, you are expected to show up. Empty seats mean gas has been wasted that could have been used on another cadet, so please be sure you can come before you sign up. If you are sick and cannot make it at the last minute, please let us know right away so we can try to fill your spot.
Do not panic if you don't get on the list this time. There will be more opportunities this year. If you have questions, post them in the chat below for everyone to see in case others have the same question.

2. CODE OF CONDUCTS AND ANNUAL VALIDATIONS
ALL returning cadets return their signed Cadet Code of Conduct and Annual Validations to the Admin O by next Thursday
Make sure it has a parent signature on it before returning it
New cadets do not need to do this – it was a part of your registration for this year
3. ATTENDANCE AND ABSENCES
Please note, we are taking attendance at opening parade in flights
Fall into your flight as soon as you arrive – do not wait at the edge of the parade square - at the beginning of the night and a senior cadet will call out attendance.
If you arrive late/after attendance has been taken, please make your way to the office and speak to Admin so they can change the attendance to mark you present.
UNABLE TO ATTEND WEEKLY THURSDAY TRAINING NIGHTS - *NEW*
If you are sick, or unable to attend cadets, please use this 135 Thursday Night Absence Tracker (Attendance) – Fill out form to let us know
E-mails are no longer going to be checked
4. IF YOU ARE NOT RETURNING
If you are not returning to cadets, please reply to this email and let us know.
Return your uniform on the next Thursday to close out your cadet file
5. UNIFORM EXCHANGE
If your uniform no longer fits you, please bring the pieces that no longer fit to the supply for exchange. Exchanges can happen on ANY Thursday evening.
6. CADET365 – NEW CADETS
All new cadets will be sent a Cadet365 email to activate
PLEASE ACTIVATE your account ASAP – ALL communication is through MS TEAMS.
7. NATIONAL GROUND SCHOOL PROGRAM SIGN UP
The National Ground School Program (NGSP) is designed to provide essential ground school training for cadets preparing for the Qualifying Exam, a crucial part of the selection process for the Glider Pilot Training Course (GPTC) and the Power Pilot Training Course (PPTC). Cadets intending to apply for any of the pilot training courses for Summer 2027 are to complete the signup form below.

8. LEVEL 1 UNIFORMS
The new uniforms have begun to arrive, and we are almost ready to distribute them. If you are waiting on a uniform, please do not come to the supply to check if it has arrived.
The supply officer will call you to the office once your uniform is ready for pickup. Please note that not all uniforms are ready yet. Approximately 10–20 cadets will receive their uniforms over the coming weeks, as we are still waiting for additional shipments.
Once your uniform is ready, you will be called by name on parade night. Uniforms that are ready will be set aside. If you are not present on parade night, we will email you to let you know your uniform has arrived. If a uniform is not collected within three weeks of being called or emailed, it will be reassigned to the next cadet on the waiting list.
9. ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT PARKING
Please do not park in reserved spots (e.g. CO, Sgt Maj) or in the handicapped parking spots by the parking garage unless you have a proper hang-tag for using those spots. This is not a drop off zone.

11. PARENT’S CORNER – A WORD FROM 135 SSC
There was a great turn out at the Parent Information night on Oct 1st, with over 40 parents present. One question posed by many parents was When does training end?
Training typically ends at 9:15pm, on occasion 9:30pm. However, every training night, one flight (the group of cadets your child is assigned to) is responsible for cleaning up at the end of the night. On these nights, your cadet may stay until 9:45pm. Higher level cadets may finish as late as 10:00pm.

The SSC is always looking for new members to join the committee. If you are able to volunteer your time to help with a cadet event or the canteen please fill out the attached application form and send it to Danielle at 135sscchair@gmail.com.

General New Recruit Registration Information
Once an online registration form has been submitted to 135 Air, you must complete the registration process in person with the Administration Officer on a Thursday Parade Night.
Time: 1900-2100h (once your registration is completed, you are free to leave)
Bring: Valid government ID, Health Care Card and Number, and a parent/guardian needs to be present, along with the new cadet, to sign the final paperwork.
Find street parking along the side streets and enter through the gate on W 1st Ave. Do not park in the parkade.
